Who is welcome to join MWPL?
- Everyone! We allow anyone regardless of their identity to join MWPL. However, we emphasize that our mission will always center on minority women/non-binary people in the law field!
- The term ‘minority’ is broad and MWPL considers it to be a very inclusive one! ‘Minority’ can refer to many parts of ourselves, some of which are more visible than others. MWPL believes that the word ‘minority’ is all-encompassing of many identities including (but not limited to) race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexuality, religion, disability, documentation status, and more. In short, ‘minority’ refers to any group that is underrepresented and faces challenges today, particularly in the legal field. MWPL hopes to build up a community of diverse women and nonbinary attorneys and provide a place of belonging!

Do you have general meetings?
- We call our general meetings Engagements! We have them every other Tuesday at 7:15 PM in the RLP. We begin Engagements with any updates and reminders relating to MWPL business, and then bring in a speaker who will share their experiences, answer questions, and potentially network with y’all!
- While all Engagements will be held in-person, we will be broadcasting them live for any zoom participants. We will also be recording Engagements for anyone to watch afterward.
- Some events will continue to be held virtually and recorded. However, this depends on existing COVID regulations and the restrictions of our partners (law firms, LSAT companies, etc.)
- Some of our events are open to the public. This includes our engagements… Feel free to try out MWPL for all of our events before our Membership dues deadline. After our membership deadline, we do limit any events that cost money (as the funds are from membership dues) or have a limited amount of space for official members.
